A friend let me try his FaitalPRO HF10-AK and I could compare them to my HF-108.

Both the HF-108 and the HF10-AK have a polymer diaphragm and a very similar phase plug. They sound much more similar than one would expect. Once EQ'ed flat, I'm not sure I could tell which one is playing. Especially if one cut them and use a super tweeter above 10KHz.

I measured both the HF108 and the HF10-AK at 1 meter on my JMLC 1200Hz horn. For fun, the first overlay is with my friend JMLC 1100hz.  No EQ was applied on either

Both horn are basically the same and 1100Hz and 1200Hz JMLC horn profile does about no difference above 1.6KHz.

quick subjective test prove both horn to sound pretty much identical.

The HF108 is flatter and doesn't have the breakup or resonance above 12KHz.

The HF10-AK dip at 2.1KHz is caused by an impedance peak, one could EQ this problem very easy.

The HF-10AK was played 2dB down to match the gain, the HF108 is slightly more efficient overall.

The HF108 performing better overall by a good margin.  Distortion advantage for the HF10-AK is only in a tiny range.

Conclusion.

Given they are about the same price, I would pick the HF108 over the HF-10AK but once EQ'ed flat and with a supertweeter kicking in above 8KHz or 10 KHz, I'm not sure I could tell them appart.

They vastly share the same sonic signature.
