Martin Poulin
Lately, I’ve been very interested in horns (see possible horn set-up, dated Feb 2018)

Once upon a time, I was told by a so called worldwide reputed audiophile and equipment manufacturer. AND I QUOTE:
"Gramophones are the very best system one can hope to have, because they are pure analog"
"... today's electronics are just too compromised..."
"...I know lots of people that use iPhones to voice and calibrate their speakers. iPhone microphones are very accurate..."

Needless to say, I busted out laughing at him, hearing those statements! What else can you do? I couldn’t make this shit up, even if I tried.
He was so damn serious. As the evening progressed, I slowly developed pity for the guy.
Google the word ultracrepidarian, and you may well see his face as an example.

Hopefully one day, I'll forget lunatics like him selling equipment to people hoping to accurately reproduce and enjoy music. The guy’s dialect is usually "emotion based" and always omits any technical data. Anyway, I'll conclude this traumatic encounter by saying that I've met with a strong Darwin Award candidate.

Only time will tell if he’ll ever enter history books.
Please, don’t ask me who this guy is or his company name, as I won't risk a lawsuit.
If you’re a regular visitor to HiFi shows, you’ve probably seen him.
