Consultation:

If you’re interested in any of my services, simply email me for additional information. I’ll bring my measurement gear and optimize your room with what’s feasible. I'll also recommend modifications and treatments to improve your acoustics.

I provide repairs and upgrades for the following:

  • Tube and solid-state products.

  • CD players

  • DAC

  • Headphone amplifiers

  • Phono preamplifiers*

  • Preamplifiers

  • Power Amplifiers

  • Loudspeakers (provide local delivery or if shipping can be arranged)

  • Power distribution units.

I’ll plan your upgrade from information you provide.

I do not perform a “one size fits all” process, as every design is unique and deserves it's own solution.

I’ll carefully listen to your product before, during and after the modifications, ensuing that every stage yields a sonic improvement.

Changing RCA connectors and installing audiophile branded ones may look great, but rarely is it the “bottleneck” of a product. Upgrading internal cabling often yields better results at a lesser cost.

If I change the sockets, it's either at the client’s request, or because the existing ones have degraded (oxidation/loose contacts).

Please understand, I do not change parts just for the sake of change.

I focus on the following aspects when evaluating a potential upgrade. (no specific order)

  • Complete or partial recapping with better quality capacitors and if beneficial, increase the value.

  • Chassis Damping (98% of commercial products devote minimal effort for damping, even though it yields big improvements)

  • AC filtering, EMI elimination, grounding scheme.

  • Power supply design (adding regulators or upgrading the often used generic LM78XX ones, checking the diode bridge, capacitor reservoir, transformer isolation, shielding etc.)

  • Delete or upgraded coupling capacitors

  • Internal cabling (often generic quality regardless of price)

  • Internal bias of components (often, bias is set to low and improvements can be reached by increasing it)

  • Parts quality in the signal path (surprisingly, a single resistor swap can remove a harshness in the leading edge of instruments. Every product has internal resistors in the signal path.)

I also manufacture custom cable, and I’m a big believer of single core silver conductors, inside a Teflon sleeve. However, I’ll do cooper as well, if requested for the items below.

  • XLR

  • RCA

  • Speaker cable

  • Main conductor

  • Headphone cable
